What if I am running late to my appointment?

We do offer a 10 minute grace period. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you will need to reschedule your session, and a $25 no-show fee will be charged to your card on file.

Additionally, if you miss or cancel three consecutive appointments, you may be discharged from services, except in emergency situations.

The standard duration for psychotherapy sessions is 53 minutes. If you wish to adjust the length of your sessions, please discuss this with your therapist in advance. We also offer 30-minute and 45-minute sessions, tailored to meet your specific needs.

Please note that any checks returned for any reason will incur a $10.00 service charge for handling.

Electronic Communication Policy

Any All communications with your therapist should occur via email, through the client portal, or by calling the Tabula Rasa office phone. Electronic communication, including phone calls, emails, and video sessions, is considered telemedicine under Illinois law.

When engaging in telemedicine, you understand that:
1. You may withhold or withdraw consent at any time without affecting your right to future care.
2. Confidentiality protections remain in place.
3. You have access to all medical information transmitted during telemedicine consultations, with available copies for a reasonable fee.
4. No identifiable images or information will be disseminated without your consent.
5. There are potential risks and benefits associated with telemedicine, including improved communication and convenience, but also limitations in non-verbal observations.events rescheduled within 45 days of the original date will require full payment for perishable items. However, we always strive to collaborate with you.

Appointments and Cancellations

To ensure our services run smoothly, we kindly ask that you cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.

If you cancel on the same day or within 24 hours, a late cancellation fee of $25 will be charged to the credit or debit card we have on file.

This fee reflects the time commitment made for your appointment, which is reserved exclusively for you. Emergencies are taken into consideration, but your therapist cannot waive the fee; please discuss any concerns with Bianca, our Client Account Manager.

If I need to urgently talk to my therapist, can I call him/her directly?

If you need to contact your therapist between sessions, please call 224-255-0728 and leave a voicemail. While your therapist may not be immediately available, they will do their best to return your call within 24 hours.

Although face-to-face sessions are preferred, video sessions are available if you are unwell or require additional support. In case of a true emergency, please call 911 or visit your local emergency room.

Social Media & Telecommunication Policy

To maintain your confidentiality and avoid dual relationships, Tabula Rasa staff will not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on any social networking site (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn). We believe that maintaining boundaries is essential for the therapeutic relationship. If you have questions about this policy, please discuss them with your therapist during your next session.

Minors

If you are a minor, please be aware that your parents may be entitled to some information regarding your therapy. Your therapist will discuss what information is appropriate to share with your parents and what should remain confidential.

Ending a therapeutic relationship can be challenging, so we have established a termination process to provide closure. The appropriate length of this process will be discussed based on the duration and intensity of your treatment.

Your therapist may terminate treatment with prior discussion if it is deemed ineffective or if you are in default of payment. We will ensure that you understand the reasons for termination before proceeding. If therapy is concluded for any reason, or if you request a different therapist, we will provide you with a list of qualified professionals for your continued care.

If you do not schedule an appointment for three consecutive weeks without prior arrangements, we must consider the professional relationship discontinued for legal and ethical reasons.
